March 24th!

That's our "official" due date.  We'll see if it changes, and I definitely know better than to expect it to be born on that exact date.  :)
I'll start from the beginning, I suppose!  I found out on Tuesday the 20th of July.  On a whim I decided to take a test.  I had taken tests in the past but somewhere inside of me I always knew they'd come up negative.  I very much put off going to the drug store and taking that test this time, because something just felt different, and I couldn't quite tell if I wanted to know the result!  This is something we've both always wanted, to be parents, and to be young parents at that.  But, quite honestly, the very first thought that went through my head was "I'm so young!!"
Soon after I saw my regular family practice doc.  She confirmed through a urine sample that I am, indeed, pregnant.  The nurse called me and said, "We got your lab results and it's real!  You ARE pregnant!"  They're very sweet, but I immediately sought out a new OB/GYN for the remainder of my pregnancy.  I was only 5 weeks along, and by the time I was able to get in with my new physician I was 7 weeks.  He did a full exam, which wasn't super fun for either of us, I would imagine, and I got to have an ultrasound!  It didn't move me to tears, because it just looked like a fuzzy shapeless cloud.   I did get a little emotional when I heard it's perfect little heartbeat.  So bizarre, the idea of something growing inside of you.
I'm in my 12th week right now.  I haven't been even a little bit sick during this whole time and I'm incredibly thankful for that.  I was extremely tired the first few weeks but I'm over that now and I just try to go to bed a little earlier these days.
We finally told everyone we know over Labor Day weekend.  We'd kept it a secret (for the most part) for six weeks and definitely couldn't hold it in anymore.  I've been dying to blog about it, but so far there's not much else to say.  I haven't felt any movement, and the doctor said it might be another month before I do anyway, and we won't know the sex until November.  Next Monday, the 13th, I have some kind of ultrasound screening and blood test to check the baby's hormone levels, so perhaps I'll update again then.
Yay!! :)
